Liverpool FC Legends are set to grace the Anfield turf once more, with the full squad now confirmed for this weekend’s charity match in aid of the LFC Foundation. With iconic names from the club’s history reuniting, the match promises to be both nostalgic and impactful, raising vital funds to tackle health inequalities in the Liverpool City Region.
Liverpool’s all-time greats will be led by club legend Sir Kenny Dalglish, with a squad boasting a mix of European Cup winners, Premier League stalwarts, and cult heroes. The latest additions—Yossi Benayoun, Martin Kelly, Albert Riera, and Ryan Babel—further strengthen the team’s ranks, bringing flair and experience to the side.

The full squad features notable names such as Steven Gerrard, Dirk Kuyt, Peter Crouch, and Sami Hyypiä, while former shot-stoppers Jerzy Dudek, Sander Westerveld, and David James will rotate between the posts. Interestingly, the squad also includes Natasha Dowie, a trailblazer in the women’s game, who will add a fresh dynamic to the forward line alongside Djibril Cissé and Florent Sinama-Pongolle.
While the prospect of seeing former stars roll back the years will delight supporters, the primary goal of this fixture extends beyond the pitch. The LFC Foundation aims to address stark health inequalities in the city, where life expectancy remains below the national average.
As the Foundation states: “A person’s life expectancy shouldn’t be determined by their postcode.” The funds raised will support physical and mental wellbeing programmes, targeting both young and elderly individuals in the community.
Tickets remain available, with prices set at £29 for adults, £19 for concessions, and £9 for juniors. For disabled supporters, full details can be accessed via the Accessibility Hub.
These annual legends matches always generate excitement, offering supporters the chance to see their heroes back in red while contributing to a meaningful cause. Whether it’s Gerrard’s passing, Kuyt’s relentless work rate, or Cissé’s flair, there will be plenty of nostalgia on show for those in attendance.
For many, seeing Sir Kenny Dalglish at the helm once again will be just as special as the football itself. His leadership, both on and off the pitch, continues to inspire a generation of fans and players alike.
Liverpool fans always look forward to the annual Legends match, but this year’s squad has a particularly well-balanced mix of star names and cult figures. Seeing Gerrard back at Anfield in any capacity is always a spectacle, while Kuyt, Crouch, and Cissé offer a blend of skill, experience, and entertainment.
The inclusion of Natasha Dowie is a standout moment, as it continues to bridge the gap between men’s and women’s football. For a club with such a deep history in both, it feels like a natural progression and a significant step forward in visibility for the women’s game.
Beyond the football, the LFC Foundation’s work in tackling health inequalities remains crucial. Liverpool has long suffered from stark health disparities, and events like this serve as a reminder that football has the power to drive real social change.
This game is more than just a trip down memory lane—it’s a statement about Liverpool FC’s commitment to its community. Fans attending will not only get to witness legends in action but also play their part in making a tangible difference.
