Here, we have rounded up all the action that took place on matchday five of the 2024/25 Liga F season.

Real Madrid 1-0 Valencia

Real Madrid required just a single goal to get the better of Valencia on Friday. Olga Carmona scored her second goal of the Liga F season to break the deadlock in the 26th minute. Carmona’s left-footed shot deflected in off former Real Madrid defender Claudia Florentino. With Valencia unable to respond, they fell to a fourth consecutive defeat — leaving them rooted to the bottom of the table.

Athletic Club 0-2 Atlético Madrid

Atleti played a goalless first half before they found the breakthrough in the 59th minute. Rosa Otermín’s shot was pushed onto the crossbar before it bounced down onto Maddi Torre and into the net. Unfortunately for the Athletic defender, she scored another own goal in stoppage time. In an attempt to deal with a cutback, Torre could only divert the ball past Adriana Nanclares. As a result of the victory, Atleti are still one of three teams yet to drop points in Liga F this season.

Madrid CFF 1-8 Barcelona

The final scoreline may be significant, but Madrid CFF were dreaming of an upset at the half-time interval. Allegra Poljak scored her first Madrid CFF goal to send her side into the break with a slender advantage. However, Keira Walsh and a 49th-minute effort for Barcelona ultimately cut out their lead. Ewa Pajor and Vicky López then scored in the space of two minutes to turn the game completely in Barcelona’s favour.

Unfortunately for the hosts, Barcelona moved through the gears to net five goals in a 20-minute period. Alexia Putellas showed great persistence to create space to slot a low shot past Paola Ulloa. Walsh then produced a driven strike from the edge of the box to grab her second goal of the game. There was still plenty of time for Ingrid Engen, Ona Batlle and Jana Fernández to get in on the act to round off a commanding second half performance.

Levante 0-0 Sevilla

Levante and Sevilla both lacked a cutting edge in Saturday’s goalless affair. Sevilla’s Lucía Corrales arguably went closest when her second half free-kick whistled just past the post. However, the visitors ultimately had to be content with a point which ensured they finished the weekend in seventh position. As for Levante, they are in 12th spot with four points from five matches.

Real Betis 0-1 Costa Adeje Tenerife

Gift Monday scored the decisive goal in Tenerife’s trip to Andalucía. The attacker found the breakthrough inside the opening minute of the second half. Aleksandra Zaremba stood the ball up for Monday to send a downward header past Paula Vizoso. The visitors ultimately held on to their slender advantage to claim their first away league win since March.

Espanyol 2-1 Eibar

Esperanza Pizarro gave Eibar a 29th-minute lead with a spectacular long-range effort. The Uruguay international cut onto her right foot before she fired an unstoppable shot out of Romane Salvador’s reach. Unfortunately for Pizarro, her outrageous strike counted for very little as Espanyol produced a turnaround.

First, Arola Aparicio pounced on a defensive mix-up to slide a right-foot shot into the bottom corner. Lice Chamorro then netted an 81st-minute winner, turning the ball in from Aparicio’s low cross. As a result of that late strike, Espanyol celebrated their first victory since winning promotion to Liga F.

Granada 0-2 Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad had to wait until the 67th minute to break the deadlock in Sunday’s away meeting with Granada. However, the goal was ultimately worth the wait, with Manuel Vanegas curling a sensational free-kick over the wall and into the top corner. La Real then made sure of the three points with a goal in stoppage time. Klára Cahynová met a deep corner to send her header looping over the goalkeeper and into the far corner. Cahynová’s late effort sealed a third consecutive win for Real Sociedad.

Levante Badalona 1-0 Deportivo de la Coruña

Levante Badalona continued their impressive start to the season with a narrow win over Dépor. The contest looked set to end goalless until Macarena Portales netted a 91st-minute winner. The former Valencia forward drove inside from the left flank before drilling a low shot into the bottom corner. Portales’ late strike leaves Badalona in fourth position, while Dépor are in 14th place after falling to their third defeat of the Liga F season.
