Liverpool are reportedly close to winning the race for the transfer of Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes in a potential €60m deal.
The Reds have previously been linked with the likes of Martin Zubimendi and Joshua Kimmich as potential midfield reinforcements ahead of this summer.
And now it looks like reports in Brazil expect them to move to sign Gomes from Wolves, with the 24-year-old also previously being on the radar of Manchester United.
Gomes has shone during his time at Molineux and it’s now reported that he’s edging closer to finalising a €60m summer move to Anfield.
The Brazil international looks like he could be a fine fit to give Liverpool an upgrade on someone like Wataru Endo in the middle of the park.

It was a quiet summer for LFC last year, with Arne Slot doing a great job to take this team to the top of the Premier League table with only one signing in Federico Chiesa, who has barely featured anyway.
Still, Liverpool fans will no doubt hope to see the club doing a bit more business in the months ahead, and it seems they’ve started early with a move for Gomes.
Man Utd will no doubt be disappointed to miss out on the player, who has shown his quality in the Premier League during his time with Wolves.
€60m is clearly not cheap, but this could end up being a fine investment by Liverpool if Gomes continues to develop.
Gomes is not the only Wolves player being strongly linked with Liverpool, as left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri could be another target to watch out for in the weeks and months ahead.
