On their visit to Craven Cottage, Liverpool suffered an unexpected 3-2 defeat against Fulham, one of the fastest-rising clubs in the Premier League this season. The start was a different story, with the Reds imposing their attacking pace and pushing up the lines, greatly hindering Fulham's offensive construction.

Mac Allister took advantage of a ball recovered in attack and approached the edge of the box to shoot firmly into the corner for another fine goal in Liverpool's season. However, Fulham reacted very well as the first half wore on, and Sessegnon equalized with a ball that was poorly cut out by the Liverpool defense.

With the equalizer, Fulham created a lot of attacking volume and pushed up the lines to find the breakthrough through Iwobi, who took advantage of a misplaced pass in the opposition's defensive system and struck a firm left-footed shot. Before the break, Liverpool conceded a third goal, with Brazilian Muninz breaking into the box to tap the ball past the goalkeeper, when Van Dijk missed a through ball.

In the second half, Liverpool once again took control of possession and the offensive actions in search of a reaction, but the second goal came just 72 minutes later, when Bradley accelerated in the attacking transition and laid the ball off for Luis Díaz to hit across goal. However, in the final minutes, Liverpool opted for a lot of random crosses into the box, without managing to create another move of real danger to threaten Fulham's victory.

The Premier League title is not in jeopardy because of Arsenal's incompetence, who can no longer develop their attacking style and struggle to control games when they have the upper hand. There's no reason for Liverpool fans to be worried about losing the title to their rivals, but they do need to keep an eye on Arne Slot's work.

After the frustrating loss of the League Cup title, Liverpool found it very easy to break down defensively without the presence of Trent Alexander-Arnold. Arne Slot cannot rely solely on Elliott playing in four man midfield, and needs a creative midfielder in the squad.
