Liverpool open talks with Aurélien Tchouaméni over potential transfer from Real Madrid | OneFootball

According to Sacha Tavolieri, Liverpool have been in contact with representatives of Aurélien Tchouaméni (24) over a potential transfer from Real Madrid. The Premier League club remain in contact with the player after the Champions League winners decleared their willingness to sell the former Monaco midfielder.

Liverpool have been long admirers of the France international midfielder. In 2022, before Tchouaméni opted to sign for Real Madrid, the Reds were heavily interested in bringing the Frenchman to Anfield. The 24-year-old is viewed as an ideal profile for Arne Slot’s midfield as they look to recruit a defensive midfielder. The La Liga outfit would command a fee of €60m in order to sell the midfielder.

Replacements targeted

Tchouaméni has been made available for sale by Madrid due to the other transfer targets being named. Tavolieri reports that the sale of the defensive midfielder would allow the La Liga champions to recruit Manchester City midfielder Rodri. Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez has been identfied as a back-up option should the Spanish capital club fail to sign the Ballon d’Or winner.
