Yes, that's right. A report in Spain has emerged that suggests Liverpool are still looking to sign Julian Alvarez.

Anfield Watch revealed exclusively that Liverpool tried to sign Alvarez last summer and that they would be interested in the Argentine again.

Now with Atletico Madrid interested in Darwin Nunez, Anfield Watch also exclusively revealed that Liverpool would be willing to allow him to join the Spanish side for a cut-price if it meant Atletico open up the possibility of selling Alvarez.

It remains to be seen whether that is going to be possible. But it's certainly not dead in the water.

Spanish outlet El Chiringuito has reported that Liverpool are among the clubs interested in Julian Alvarez who are set to begin talks and meetings over signing him next week.

The report claims that Atletico could be open to a sale if they receive a big enough offer. This offer would have to be a mega one, exceeding the £81.5m they paid to sign him from Manchester City last summer.

But as we revealed in our exclusive many weeks ago, Liverpool are prepared to break their club record in order to sign Alvarez.

The interest in Alvarez obviously dates back to a long-time and there are strong ties with the Argentine linking him back to Liverpool.

One of his closest friends in football, Alexis Mac Allister is a key player for the club. They won the World Cup for Argentina together in Qatar. Alvarez also has close relationships with Liverpool's South American scouts.

He has enjoyed a brilliant season at Atletico Madrid but a return to Liverpool is always going to be tempting for a player. Especially, right now with Arne Slot's side playing such exciting football.

It's exciting to know that Liverpool are seemingly not giving up on this transfer. Even as they wait for Wirtz to make a decision in what could be a mega move, they are continuing to pursue a striker and not just any striker but one of the best ones in European football at the moment.
