Liverpool are increasing their efforts to sign Brighton & Hove Albion striker Joao Pedro, viewing him as a potential replacement for Darwin Nunez, according to Teamtalk.
Manager Arne Slot is keen to strengthen the attacking options ahead of the 2025–26 season, with Pedro’s versatility and Premier League experience making him an ideal candidate.
The Brighton attacker has scored 10 goals and provided seven assists this season, impressing the Premier League champions.
Pedro is not only known for his goal scoring quality and creative talent but also his work rate and his hold up ability.
Pedro’s versatility across multiple attacking roles, whether as a central striker, a supporting forward, or out wide, fits seamlessly into Slot’s dynamic tactical approach, which emphasises fluidity and adaptability among his forwards.
Liverpool have identified Pedro as the long term solution to Nunez who has struggled a lot at Anfield.
The Uruguayan’s struggles with consistency in front of goal have cast doubts over his future at Anfield, with the club reportedly open to considering offers for him.

Although the Reds have won the league title this season, there is a feeling that they could have done a lot better in the Champions League as well as the cup competitions and a lack of a proper threat up front is one of the reasons why they have failed to perform well in other competitions.
Brighton are expected to demand a substantial fee for Pedro. With his contract secured until 2028, the Seagulls are likely to set his valuation at over £60 million.
Along with Pedro, the Merseyside club have Atalanta attacker Ademola Lookman firmly on their radar
