According to The Athletic, The youngster is set to pen a long-term contract before plying his trade to Sunderland for the rest of the season.

The 19-year-old England youth international progressed through the Reds’ academy ranks before breaking into their senior side in February 2024. He fired in a brace against Southampton in last year’s FA Cup, and the club were open to loan offers ahead of the 2024-25 season.

However, a stress fracture in his back stopped him from experiencing first-team football amid interest from a host of Championship outfits. It took him months to rejoin team training, but his sharpness high up the pitch was witnessed yet again following a goal-scoring return against Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup. He made his first-ever Liverpool start last week in a dead rubber European encounter against PSV Eindhoven, and the Merseysiders are now willing to loan him out to accelerate his development.

Jayden, the son of former Crystal Palace midfielder Neil Danns, has not only proved his poaching traits but also exhibited his physical presence as well as playmaking ability against the Dutch heavyweights. He deserves regular minutes to flourish his skills, but the presence of Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez has minimized his opportunities high up the pitch.

The Black Cats, on the other hand, are chasing a Premier League promotion with just three points off the direct qualification spot. But they do not have an outright goalscorer other than Wilson Isidor.
