Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo absent from training on eve of PSG tie | OneFootball

Cody Gakpo (25) has missed the final training session before Liverpool travel to Paris ahead of tomorrow’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Dutchman has been struggling with an ankle issue recently. He was forced off with the issue during the Merseyside Derby on 12th February and missed Liverpool’s next two games. He did, however, make appearances off the bench, firstly against Manchester City and then against Newcastle United.

However, Gakpo was absent from training on Tuesday, ahead of the game against PSG at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday. The Netherlands international has, however, made the trip with his teammates, as confirmed by the club. Arne Slot will speak at the pre-match press conference, in Paris, on Tuesday evening. His comments should shed some light on the issue and give an indication as to whether Gakpo will be able to play a part against PSG.
