One person who is turning their stock around at Leicester is Luke Thomas. The academy graduate received a lot of deserved praise for his performance against Liverpool. Mo Salah lined up across from the left back, and the LB more than held his own.

Particularly given his level of play over the past weeks and that he was excluded from the lineup for a lot of the Foxes' poor run, Thomas is far from the first person that LCFC supporters have an issue with. In what has been a disappointment, the potential he has shown as of late gives something resembling an optimistic takeaway from the current season.

The fact still stands, however, that there are fixtures to be played, and relegation is a certainty. Now forced with needing to show up against Premier League competition, it would be easy for a side that already hasn't always shown the best in terms of effort to further mail it in.

That hasn't been the case against the Reds, and the young defender spoke on this issue specifically. While there isn't necessarily anything to play for, the remaining fixtures need to show a stronger showing from City. Yes, their destiny is sealed. There is an element of pride and being able to end on something of a good note.

Points of focus for Leicester in the season's final stages

Speaking with the team media, Thomas shared his overview of LCFC. Noting that the season has obviously not gone the way anyone would have liked, he spoke on why the Foxes need to still be as competitive as possible until the end of the 2024-2025 campaign. He elaborated:

"We’ve got to regroup as a team and look at next season. We’ve got to put in some performances at the back-end of the season. It’s just about focusing on ourselves, we’ve got nothing to lose now so we can go there, put in a performance and hopefully get a result."

It will be a new beginning, possibly with a different manager, after the players return from the summer break. Working on aspects that led the side to be in this position in the first place, such as competitiveness, needs to be the focus during the final weeks.
