Nicolas Tagliafico came off injured at half-time during Olympique Lyonnais’ 2-1 defeat to Stade Brestois over the weekend and as a result will play no part in Lyon’s Coupe de France encounter against Bourgoin-Jallieu on Wednesday night.
However, in line with their Ligue 1 counterparts, Lyon are expected to field a strong side in the Round of 32 tie, despite coming up against lower-tier opposition.
Tagliafico is the major absentee, however, Mahamadou Diawara, who is the subject of transfer interest, and Wilfried Zaha, who has failed to settle at OL, have also been left out of Pierre Sage’s matchday squad on this occasion. Alexandre Lacazette may get a rest with Georges Mikautadze expected to lead the line for Lyon.
There may also be a rare start for Rémy Descamps in goal. He is expected to replace uncontestable No.1 Lucas Perri for this Coupe de France tie.
