Magdalena Sobal, Brescia Femminile: “Sono stata accolta molto bene e sono molto soddisfatta di questo. Punto al titolo di capocannoniere” | OneFootball

Il Brescia sta per chiudere la sua quinta stagione in Serie B andando domani a giocare in casa dell’H&D Chievo Women, per l’ultima giornata di campionato: l’obiettivo per la formazione allenata da Giovanni Valenti è quello di ottenere quella vittoria che darebbe una possibilità di conquistare il sesto posto, piazzamento condiviso col Cesena, soprattutto perché ad un punto di sono proprio le clivensi. Le Leonesse, che domenica hanno perso 3-2 in rimonta contro la Res Women, possono contare però sull’apporto di Magdalena Sobal, attaccante nativa della Polonia nata nel 2004 che è alla sua prima esperienza in Italia e ha messo a referto ben ventun centri in campionato ed in corsa per il titolo di capocannoniere del torneo cadetto. La nostra Redazione ha raggiunto Magdalena per risponderci ad alcune domande.

Magdalena, cosa significa per te giocare a pallone? «Secondo me, giocare a calcio significa godersi ogni passaggio, ogni tiro in porta e ogni azione di squadra ben costruita. Il calcio è uno sport di squadra in cui i legami non si formano solo per un momento, ma durano per tutta la vita, e questo è qualcosa di veramente bello. Il campo è un posto ideale per mostrare la nostra personalità, il nostro carattere e la nostra ambizione».

Cosa ti ha portato a diventare un’attaccante? «Fin da quando ero bambina, sono stata attratta dai gol. Mi sono sempre trovata in una zona della linea d’attacco e mi è piaciuto molto. I gol portano gioia non solo a me ma anche alla mia squadra, il che è incredibilmente importante. Ecco perché il ruolo di attaccante è qualcosa che amo davvero».

Quest’anno indossi la maglia del Brescia. Cosa ti ha colpito di questa società? «Al club, anche se stavo tornando da un infortunio, lo staff tecnico e le ragazze mi hanno accolto molto calorosamente. Mi sono sentita a mio agio, anche se stavo ancora lottando per tornare in campo. Ho instaurato subito rapporti di amicizia con le mie compagne di squadra e non ho mai avuto problemi: sono molto soddisfatta di questo. Mi piace anche il modo in cui funzioniamo come gruppo, sia in campo che nello spogliatoio. Quando è il momento di concentrarsi, ci concentriamo, ma c’è sempre spazio per le battute».

Per te si tratta anche della tua prima esperienza fuori paese e al tuo primo anno in Italia hai già messo a referto ventun gol e ti stai giocando il titolo di capocannoniere della Serie B. «Sì, è vero: questa è la mia prima stagione “fuori casa” e anche se non ho giocato tutte le partite a causa della riabilitazione, tutti quelli che erano intorno a me mi hanno fatto stare molto bene. Ciò si è riflesso nelle mie prestazioni e nella mia posizione attuale in squadra. Per quanto riguarda il titolo di capocannoniere, spero di poterlo conquistare nell’ultima partita».

Il Brescia si trova al sesto posto, insieme al Cesena, con ancora una gara da giocare. Come valuti la stagione della tua squadra? «Penso che la nostra stagione non sia stata negativa, ma nemmeno la migliore e a volte succede. Quest’anno è stato molto strano: a ogni partita si sono verificati sempre più infortuni, che ci hanno causato problemi e ci hanno fatto perdere giocatrici molto importanti in mezzo al campo. Tuttavia, abbiamo continuato a lavorare. Credo che abbiamo svolto un duro lavoro in allenamento mettendoci il cuore, per cui alla fine dobbiamo essere orgogliose di noi stesse, anche se dobbiamo sempre impegnarci per ottenere di più».

Delle partite giocate quest’anno col Brescia, c’è una gara che ti ha lasciato dei bei ricordi? E quella che ti verrebbe voglia di rigiocare? «Ho sicuramente un bel ricordo del mio debutto, non solo perché è stata la mia prima partita con la squadra, ma anche perché ha segnato il mio ritorno dopo l’infortunio. Saranno momenti indimenticabili per me, anche se abbiamo perso la partita. Naturalmente, se potessi, tornerei indietro e cambierei il risultato di ogni partita persa».

Il Brescia ha lasciato domenica il bottino pieno alla Res Women, sebbene la squadra fosse avanti di due gol… «Sfortunatamente, questa partita ci è andata contro, nonostante fossimo in vantaggio per due a zero. Non è stata la nostra miglior prestazione, ma nel calcio capitano situazioni del genere. Dobbiamo accettarlo, imparare da ciò e lottare di più nella prossima sfida, correggendo gli errori che ci sono costati i gol».

Domani il Brescia andrà in casa dell’H&D Chievo Women e l’obiettivo è chiudere la stagione con una vittoria. «Naturalmente pensiamo solo a vincere, non vogliamo accettare altri esiti. Ma alla fine sarà il campo a decidere il risultato finale».

Tra pochi mesi ci saranno gli Europei e la Polonia si prepara ad esordire in questa competizione. Che aspettative hai sulla tua nazionale? «Spero mostrino un grande calcio e che dimostrino quanto hanno lavorato negli ultimi tempi. Auguro loro i migliori risultati: tengo le dita incrociate».

Com’è la tua vita extracalcistica? «Al di fuori del calcio mi piace molto passare il tempo con gli amici e la famiglia: è semplicemente un ottimo modo per rilassarsi. Ascolto molta musica e adoro viaggiare».

Che obiettivi vorresti raggiungere per i prossimi anni? «Non so quali siano i miei piani a lungo termine, perché preferisco vivere il presente. Spero solo di continuare a crescere sia professionalmente che personalmente, di non subire infortuni e di essere felice di fare ciò che amo».

Cosa vorresti dire alle tue compagne del Brescia in vista dell’ultima di campionato? «Spero soprattutto che con questa ultima partita dimostreremo a noi stesse e a tutti gli altri che siamo una squadra forte, piena di carattere, e che riusciremo a concludere la stagione con una vittoria che potremo festeggiare tutte insieme».

E ai tifosi che sono venuti a supportarvi ogni domenica? «Vorrei ringraziare di cuore per il sostegno che abbiamo ricevuto: ovunque abbiamo giocato, abbiamo sempre sentito i cori e gli incoraggiamenti dei tifosi. Sono stati il dodicesimo giocatore della nostra squadra».

ENGLISH VERSION Magdalena Sobal, Brescia Femminile: “I was very well received and I am very happy about that. I’m aiming for the title of top scorer”

Brescia is about to close its fifth season in Serie B going to play at the home of H&D Chievo Women, for the last day of the championship: the goal for the formation coached by Giovanni Valenti is to get that victory that would give a chance to conquer the sixth place, placement shared with Cesena, especially because at one point of are precisely the Clivensi. The Leonesse, who lost 3-2 on Sunday against Res Women in a comeback, can however count on the contribution of Magdalena Sobal, a Polish-born striker born in 2004 who is at her first experience in Italy and has scored no less than twenty-one goals in the league and is in the running for the title of top scorer in the cadet tournament. Our editorial staff caught up with Magdalena to answer a few questions.

Magdalena, what does playing ball mean to you? «In my opinion, playing football is all about enjoying every pass, every shot on goal, and every beautifully constructed team action. Football is a team sport where bonds are formed not just for a moment – many of them last a lifetime, and that’s something truly beautiful. The pitch is a great place to show our personality, character, and ambition».

What led you to become a striker? «Ever since I was a child, I’ve been drawn to scoring goals. I’ve always found myself somewhere in the attacking line, and I’ve really enjoyed it. Goals bring joy not only to me but also to my team, which is incredibly important. That’s why the role of a striker is something I truly love».

This year you wear the Brescia jersey. What impressed you about this club? «At the club, even though I was coming back from an injury, the coaching staff and the girls welcomed me very warmly. I felt comfortable, even while I was still fighting to get back on the pitch. I quickly formed friendly relationships with my teammates, and I never had any issues – I’m very satisfied with that. I also like how we function as a team, both on the pitch and in the locker room. When it’s time to focus, we focus, but there’s also always space for laughter».

For you, this is also your first experience outside the country, and in your first year in Italy you have already scored twenty-one goals and are playing for the title of top scorer in Serie B. «Yes, it’s true – this is my first season “away from home,” and although I didn’t play in every match due to my rehabilitation, everyone around me made me feel really good here. That has reflected in my performance and the position I currently hold in the team. As for the top scorer title, I hope I can secure it in the last game».

Brescia is in sixth place, along with Cesena, with still one match to play. How do you evaluate your team’s season? «I think our season wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t our best – and that happens sometimes. This year was very strange – with every match, more and more injuries occurred, which caused us stress and meant losing some very important players on the pitch. Still, we kept playing. I believe we worked hard in training and put our hearts into it, so in the end, we should be proud of ourselves – though we should always strive for more».

Of the matches played this year with Brescia, is there a match that left you with fond memories? And the one that you would like to replay? «I definitely have great memories of my debut, not only because it was my first match with the club, but also because it marked my return after injury. These will be unforgettable moments for me, even though we lost the game. Of course, if I could, I would go back and change the outcome of every lost match».

Brescia let Res Women have the spoils on Sunday, although the team was ahead by two goals… «Unfortunately, that particular game turned against us despite leading 2–0. It wasn’t our best match, but games like that happen in football. We have to accept it, learn from it, and fight harder in the next matches, correcting the mistakes that cost us goals».

Brescia will go to the home of H&D Chievo Women tomorrow and the goal is to end the season with a win. «Of course, we’re only thinking about winning – we don’t want to accept any other outcome. But in the end, the pitch will decide the final result».

In a few months there will be the European Championships and Poland is preparing to make its debut in this competition. What are your expectations for your national team? «I hope they show great football and prove how much they’ve worked recently. I wish them the best results and I’m keeping my fingers crossed».

What is your non-football life like? «Outside of football, I really enjoy spending time with friends and family – it’s simply a great way to relax. I listen to a lot of music and I absolutely love traveling».

What goals would you like to achieve for the next few years? «I can’t really define my long-term plans, as I prefer to live in the moment. I just hope to continue developing both professionally and personally, stay free of injuries, and be happy doing what I love».

What would you like to say to your Brescia teammates ahead of the last championship game? «Above all, I hope that with this final game, we prove to ourselves and everyone else how strong a team we are – full of character – and finish the season with a win that we’ll all celebrate together».

And to the fans who came to support you every Sunday? «I’d like to say a huge thank you for the support we received – no matter where we played, we could always hear the loud singing and encouragement from the fans. They were like the 12th player on our team».
