Chelsea put in an abject performance against Brighton on Friday night, but the post game comments from Malo Gusto will be a concern.
The Blues suffered their second defeat in the space of a week to the Seagulls as they went down 3-0 on the south coast after being dumped out of the FA Cup last weekend.
Enzo Maresca’s men were toothless in attack and were punished for dreadful defending, with Karou Mitoma scoring a brilliant goal and Yankuba Minteh grabbing a brace.
It’s now two wins in their last nine league games and Chelsea are in a slump they seemingly have no idea how to get out of.
The Blues will drop out of the top four if results go against them over the weekend, and they face a real uphill battle to qualify for the Champions League.
Maresca will no doubt be coming under increased pressure, although Gary Neville believes the pressure should be on those above the manager.

It was another performance where Chelsea looked bereft of ideas, and it appeared Brighton were hungrier to get the win.
Gusto spoke after the game and admitted the Blues weren’t good enough, but worryingly accepted Brighton had more desire than them.
“As a team we were very disappointing tonight,” he told the Premier League as cited on X.com.
“They had more desire to win than us and we need to do better in the next game because it will be important for us to stay in the top four – that is the target.”

It’s really concerning to hear those words and highlights the lack of winning mentality in the squad currently as well as a lack of leadership.
Chelsea are set to appoint retired Rugby League star Willie Isa in an attempt to improve the winning culture at the club, but ultimately the players need to find that desire from within, and it looks like it’s going to be a tough end to the season.
