Manchester United have made academy graduate Marcus Rashford available for transfer, with a valuation of just £40 million, according to Sky Sports.
The decision comes amid growing financial pressures and a desire to revamp the squad following a dismal 2024/25 season that saw the Red Devils finish outside of European qualification spots.
Once hailed as the poster boy of Man United’s future, Rashford is now available for transfer which clearly shows that he is not a part of manager Ruben Amorim’s future plans at the club.
The 27-year-old was allowed to leave Man United at the start of the year in a loan move to join Aston Villa.
After falling out of favour with the manager at Old Trafford, the club and Rashford decided to part ways but it was only a loan move to join Unai Emery’s team.
However, with United now setting a price tag for the attacker, his permanent exit from the club is inevitable and it is only a matter of time before it is agreed.
The only question remains which club would be his next destination. The England international has been linked with a move to Barcelona but it remains to be seen if they have the financial power to afford the player’s wages.
INEOS, now overseeing the club’s sporting operations, view Rashford’s sale as an opportunity to generate vital funds and reduce the wage bill, particularly in light of Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR).

With Rashford’s contract still running until 2028, a £40m transfer fee would represent pure profit on the balance sheet, easing financial constraints as United look to rebuild.
While some fans may feel the valuation is low for a player of Rashford’s quality and homegrown status, others argue that his inconsistency and recent downturn in form justify the price.
Whether Rashford stays or goes, this summer could prove a defining chapter in both his career and the club’s ongoing transformation.
Along with Rashford, the Red Devils are looking to offload Alejandro Garnacho this summer.
