The winger was brought off in the first-half after Patrick Dorgu was shown a red card and headed into the dressing room rather than taking his place on the bench.

Garnacho did not emerge alongside his team-mates after half-time and Amorim said after the match that he would speak to the 20-year-old about the incident.

That conversation took place with Amorim the next morning and while the United boss said there is “not an issue”, Garnacho will pay for a meal for his team-mates as a result of his reaction.

“He came to me, to my office,” said Amorim.

“I did some investigation. He [Garnacho] went to the dressing room, changed his clothes because he was wet. Watched the game, not on the bench, and at the end of the game he went home.

“There’s not an issue there but I told him that at Manchester United everything is important. Perception in a big club is really important.

“So he’s going to pay for dinner for all the team. That is it.”

Garnacho was dropped from United’s matchday squad to face Manchester City in December alongside Marcus Rashford, who remained frozen out by Amorim until his loan move to Aston Villa.

The United boss opted to swiftly bring Garnacho back into the fold, though, and Amorim made it clear that he ready to “move on” from this latest incident as well.

“He is a young kid that will learn,” he said of Garnacho.

“The important thing is that the next morning he was speaking with me. We have to understand the situation, the context, the age of the players.

“They have to be better and understand that perception here is really important but like I said you can deal with that the next day and move on. So, let's move on."
