After two weeks of training near the Italian capital, La Provence reports that Olympique de Marseille’s staff and players have decided not to return to their ‘Ritiro’ training camp this week. Coach Roberto De Zerbi told DAZN that the choice would be decided “democratically” by players and staff, after his side drew against fellow Champions League chasers LOSC last night. Since the training retreat, OM’s on-pitch performances have seen an improvement: a 4-1 victory over Brest was followed up with last night’s draw against Lille (1-1). “I don’t have any other commitments, so we can go to Rome, or New York, or stay in all week, I don’t mind,” said De Zerbi in the press conference following last night’s clash in the North of France. Les Olympiens now sit second in the Ligue 1 table, just a point above AS Monaco on 59 points. Roberto De Zerbi’s men travel to Le Havre next weekend before facing Rennes at home, with their own destiny firmly in their hands. GFFN | George Boxall
