A media exclusive from The Telegraph states that Newcastle United have been inundated with interest from clubs in Europe, South America and the United States.

Miguel Almiron has made only one Premier League start in ten months and it appears universally accepted that Newcastle United will sell this month if getting an acceptable offer.

The exclusive says that the newspaper’s information is that talks have taken place already with a number of potential buying clubs.

Newcastle United reported to have quoted clubs £12m as their initial demand but in reality will come down from that opening bargaining position.

Miguel Almiron turns 31 in February but as Sunday against Bromley reminded everybody, his fitness and energy still right up there.

He clearly needs regular first team football and now a deal needs to be done for the good of all parties.

The Telegraph says that the wages are also an issue for a buying club but in reality, this just means that a deal can be done if Newcastle United and the player himself, want it to happen.

A balance needed so that the buying club can afford the whole package, what NUFC and Miguel Almiron will each receive.

The saved wages and a transfer fee will be some help towards Eddie Howe and Newcastle United continuing the renewal of the playing squad, even if it means it would be contributing to transfer targets in the summer, rather than immediately.

My feeling is that Newcastle could still do major incoming business in January but that would be dependent on one of their main targets becoming available now AND at the right price.

The Telegraph say that there is the potential of Sean Longstaff also possibly leaving this month but they add; “…there has been some tentative interest shown in the academy graduate – whose sale would represent pure profit for Newcastle in their PSR calculation – but a move in the summer would appear more likely.”
