Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal team took on PSG at the Parc de Princes in the second leg of their Champions League semi final on Wednesday night.

Just as in the first leg, the Parisians were a cut above the Gunners, but you wouldn’t have thought that listening to Mikel Arteta after the match.

According to Arteta, Arsenal were the better team in both games, even though they were quite comprehensively beaten 3-1 on aggregate and lost both legs.

He went on to say that PSG keeper Donnarumma was the reason the French club had ultimately prevailed and that Arsenal had been the best team in the Champions League this season.

What total and utter garbage, but it unfortunately has become the norm for this little weasel of a manager, to come out with such nonsense after his team has lost.

As Newcastle United fans, we have become accustomed to how much of a sore loser Mikel Arteta actually is.

This latest interview after the PSG defeat indicates that Arteta has now lost his grip on reality. It could even be said that he is already living in the realms of pure fantasy.

Maybe Arsenal should now do the decent thing and sack this serial loser, put him and the self-entitled Gooners out of their misery.

Arteta’s not an elite level coach, often resembling a rabbit in the headlights when Arsenal are under the cosh.

It was Arsenal that started all the Alexander Isak claptrap, but if the truth be known, they would be at the bottom of Isak’s list if he ever chose to leave Newcastle United.

It is down to Mikel Arteta that Arsenal have played without a prolific forward for a good few seasons. Aubameyang and Lacazette are both long gone and have been replaced by the likes of Havertz and Trossard.

Nothing now would give me more pleasure than Newcastle United beating Arteta and his underachieving team at the Emirates on May 18th.

First up though, we must concentrate on the visit of a club from the West End of Larndarn… Chelsea, the team that have won two Champions Leagues to Arsenal’s still big fat zero.
