Philadelphia Union can clinch a playoff spot this evening as they take on Atalanta, Toronto FC host LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls travel to Montréal and New York City FC host bottom of the Eastern Conference D.C. United.

Philadelphia Union v Atlanta United

Scorers: Carranza 18′; Gutman 25′

Philadelphia strike first as Mikael Uhre brushes off a couple of defenders before laying the ball into the path of Julián Carranza. The 22-year-old takes one touch before firing a low show into the bottom corner from the top of the box.

The lead, however, only lasted seven minutes. André Blake was on hand to save Thiago Almada’s effort but Andrew Gutman was on hand to poke home the loose ball with a brave diving header.

Toronto FC v LA Galaxy

Scorers: Costa 24′

Toronto FC came close as their Italian duo combined. Lorenzo Insigne cut in from the left flank and delivered a wicked ball to the back post but Federico Bernardeschi couldn’t control his header as it sailed harmlessly over the bar.

Made to rue their miss, it was the visitors who struck first. Brazilian winger Douglas Costa produced a moment of magic as he curled in a wonderful free-kick.
