Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to miss Wednesday’s Serie A match against Bologna due to injury.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Armenian will undergo medical tests tomorrow.

Mkhitaryan has joined Inter’s growing injury list.

A couple of days ago, the veteran former Arsenal and Manchester United midfielder pulled out of training with the Nerazzurri.

Mkhitaryan was evidently worse for wear after the Supercoppa Italiana.

That means that Mkhitaryan will miss today’s Serie A match away to Venezia.

However, the Gazzetta reports, that is not the only match that the 35-year-old will miss.

The Gazzetta confirm that Mkhitaryan will have to undergo tests with the Inter medical staff tomorrow.

The muscle problem that the Armenian has suffered is not just a minor one that he can shake off in a couple of days.

As such, the Gazzetta report, there would be little chance of seeing Mkhitaryan against Bologna in Inter’s next match.

The Nerazzurri play again in just three days. They host Bologna in their makeup match for the Supercoppa Italiana.

Naturally, Inter will hope to get a key player like Mkhitaryan back as soon as possible. There is a gruelling run of fixtures on the way.

But the Armenian will have to wait at least one more match to return.
