A lot of deserved attention is on Aston Villa. Regardless of the year, teams throughout Europe will be constantly looking at players at multiple clubs in order to boost their roster. This is even more the case during this AVFC season.

With the number of talented players on this squad, others are looking to poach talent from Villa. The increased form of Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio, as well as the excellent showings by Ian Maatsen (only to name a few examples), are impressing many decision-makers at a variety of clubs.

Someone who is reportedly garnering a lot of attention is Morgan Rogers. As shared by Transfer News Live on X, the midfield option is considered a strong possibility for Manchester City. Anyone who has watched any Villa games will know why Pep Guardiola will want to add the England international to his side.

A recent departure from Birmingham to Manchester should serve as a cautionary tale, however, for Rogers. Jack Grealish saw his fair share of success under Guardiola, but it's clear that the glory days are behind City, and it's hard to see too much going well for MCFC any time soon after their long stretch of success.

Throughout this Premier League campaign, the former Villa player has come off the bench more times than he's started. In a rotation in which he is one of many options, he's clearly on the outside looking in, and City are more likely to bring in a number of other options and keep him on the bench.

This would be the case for Rogers as well, compared to at Villa, where he is an important piece in a rising club's fortunes. Even with Monchi orchestrating moves, Unai Emery does an excellent job of keeping everyone happy in terms of role and minutes.

Players move on all the time in the sport. Depending on the offer, it could be harsh to criticize Rogers for entertaining and potentially accepting a deal that comes his way. At Aston Villa, however, he is building a strong legacy in an important moment for a club on the brink of a lot of success. At other spots, he'll simply be a number.
