Newcastle United make the trip to West Ham tonight looking to keep alive their top-four ambitions.
Three defeats in four games across all competitions has seen Newcastle’s form stutter, with the Magpies eliminated from the FA Cup last weekend.
Currently ninth in the table, the congested nature of the top half means a win will lift Newcastle into the top six – level on points with fifth-placed Manchester City.
The trip to West Ham begins a big week for Newcastle, who face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
Their opponents are looking to build momentum under Graham Potter. Back-to-back wins over Arsenal and Leicester have increased confidence at the London Stadium.
Newcastle will be without several key figures tonight. Anthony Gordon begins a three-match ban for his red card in the extra-time defeat to Brighton last weekend. Newcastle decided against appeal due to ‘insufficient grounds’ and Gordon will miss the Carabao Cup final as a result. Harvey Barnes is expected to deputise on the left.
Sven Botman has suffered a setback and has been ruled out for around eight weeks with a knee problem, while Lewis Hall will not feature again this season. The England left-back has a foot problem.
Newcastle predicted XI: Pope; Trippier, Schar, Burn, Livramento; Tonali, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Murphy, Isak, Barnes.
West Ham host Newcastle in the Premier League on Monday 10th March 2025. Kick-off at the London Stadium is 20:00 GMT.
UK viewers can watch the game live on Sky Sports Main Event and Premier League.
