High-flying Nottingham Forest could be in line to add an impressive piece to Nuno Espírito Santo's squad, with the club reportedly 'in the running' for Slavia Prague starlet El Hadji Malick Diouf.
After first cutting his teeth in Europe with Norwegian outfit Tromsø IL in the wake of his arrival from Academie Mawade Wade, Diouf's impressive season in Europe's northernmost club caught the eye of his current employers last January.
Since then, the 20-year-old Senegalese defender has gone from strength to strength in the Czech capital. He is currently ranked by the prestigious CIES Football Observatory as the top U21 attacking left full/wing-back in the world.
Currently, Forest can count on Harry Toffolo and the on-loan Álex Moreno as their left-back options. However, a move for the highly-touted Diouf would show ambition in the market that matches the club's position in the league as an outside contender for European football next season.
According to Africa Foot, Forest will face stiff competition from Brentford if they are to secure his signature, with the Senegalese international also being linked with the likes of Villarreal and Stade Rennais.
Diouf is said to be open to a January move but notes the importance of the right fit regarding manager and sporting project if he is to depart Prague.
