FC Barcelona made their way to the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey 2024-25 after beating Valencia with a 5-0 scoreline. Following this victory, the Catalans are one of the four teams left in the competition.

With the quarter-finals stage completed, the semi-finals promise to be a highly entertaining affair, with four very strong teams progressing to this round of the competition, i.e., Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid, and Real Sociedad, along with Barcelona.

The Catalans already know their opponents for the next round of the competition, following the Copa del Rey draw held today, on Wednesday. Barcelona will be facing Atlético de Madrid in the semi-finals, as announced by the Blaugrana club’s official X page.

This will be a two-legged tie, and the first leg is scheduled to be played on the 26th or 27th of February at Montjuic, while the second leg will take place a significant time after this first leg, i.e., on the 1st or 2nd of April at the Metropolitano Stadium.

In the other semi-final leg, Real Madrid will take on Real Sociedad, and in another exciting set of matches that will determine which of these two teams will advance to the final, where they can face one of Barcelona or Atletico Madrid.

Keeping in view the campaigns of these four semi-finalists, the Blaugranes have been the most impressive. They have scored 14 goals in the three games they have played this campaign, 5 against Valencia, 4 against Barbastro, and 5 against Real Betis. Meanwhile, they have conceded only 1 goal in their campaign, against the Verdiblancos in the Round of 16.

Meanwhile, their opponents for the semi-final stage, Atletico, have also been quite good in this competition. They have played 5 games in the cup up to now, as they also had to play the first two rounds, for which Real Madrid, Barcelona, Mallorca, and Athletic Club were given byes.
