Barcelona are set to lock horns with Atletico Madrid tonight, in what could be a consequential affair in the context of the title.
Heading into the game, the club have announced their final squad list, which will take on Diego Simeone’s Atleti tonight.
Ansu Fati has been excluded once again by Hansi Flick, in what is a clear indicator of the German’s waning trust in the forward.
The rest of the squad largely remains the same, with Flick still missing the likes of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Marc Bernal and Andreas Christensen.
Given the importance of his game, Flick is likely to field his strongest possible eleven on the night, with Cubarsi likely to return to action after missing the midweek Champions League game against Benfica due to suspension.
Cubarsi’s return could see Ronald Araujo return to the bench, although Flick might also opt to rest Inigo Martinez.
Not too many changes are expected elsewhere, though it will be interesting to see whether or not Frenkie de Jong will continue to get preferred over Marc Casado in midfield.
In the forward line, there won’t be any change at all, with Barcelona likely to continue with the attacking trifecta of Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal.
