AS Roma have officially announced their first signing of the winter transfer window, securing Dutch right-back Devyne Rensch from Ajax on a permanent deal.
The Giallorossi confirmed the 22 year-old’s arrival on Monday afternoon, revealing that he will take over the number 2 shirt, previously worn by fellow Dutchman Rick Karsdorp.
“AS Roma is delighted to announce the permanent signing of Devyne Rensch from Ajax,” read the club’s official statement.
“Rensch, 22, came through the youth ranks at Ajax and made his first-team debut during the 2020-21 season. He went on to make over 100 appearances for the club across all competitions.”
Adding, “The right-back also debuted for the senior Netherlands national team on 7 September 2021 in a match against Turkey.”
Rensch becomes the eighth Dutch player in Roma’s history and is expected to add depth and versatility to the team’s flanks.
