Manchester United have confirmed that Toby Collyer has received his first call-up to the England Under-20s squad for the two October fixtures.
The youngster has previously played for the Young Lions’ youth teams but it’s the first time he will join the U20s squad.
England’s Elite League Squad will take on Italy at the Stadio Benito Stirpe on Thursday before meeting the Czech Republic at home on Monday.
Collyer started his career at Brighton & Hove Albion before joining the United academy in March 2022.
He has seen a huge development since, impressing with his performances for the reserve teams.
The talented midfielder earned his senior debut in the FA Community Shield against Manchester City in August, featuring as a substitute in the second-half at Wembley.
He later made his Premier League debut in the home defeat against Liverpool.
There was a lot of excitement among supporters after Man Utd brought in some top talents this summer.
Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte all arrived at Old Trafford in excellent deals.
However, that excitement has quickly evaporated after a series of disappointing results.
There are big question marks over Erik ten Hag’s future in Manchester, with the team languishing in 14th in the Premier League standings.
The Dutchman looks to have survived for now, but the hierarchy will likely pull the plug on him if there isn’t a significant improvement after the international break.
