A spot in the final four of the 2024/25 Copa del Rey will be on the line when Real Madrid face off against Leganes on Wednesday night in the quarterfinals.
The Merengues got to this stage of the competition after seeing off challenges from Deportiva Minera and Celta Vigo and will be eager to go all the way.
For them to achieve that, though, they must beat Leganes away at Estadio Municipal de Butarque tomorrow night.
On the eve of the game, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has announced the squad list for the trip to Leganes, with several notable absentees.
David Alaba, freshly injured, misses out and is joined by Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe, both of whom are being rested by the manager with an eye on the derby at the weekend. Thibaut Courtois has also been given a breather.
Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, and Antonio Rudiger are all absent as well. Eduardo Camavinga trained with the team today but is not part of the squad.
Given the number of absences, Ancelotti has called up a number of young talents such as Jacobo Ramon, Lorenzo Aguado, and Mario Rivas in defence while midfielder Chema Andres and forward Gonzalo Garcia also make the cut.
