Charlton Athletic’s on-loan attacker Atlanta Primus has returned to parent club Southampton.

The Saints confirmed the news this morning via a post on their official club website.

The 27-year-old Jamaican international joined The Addicks on a season-long loan deal last September. The player has gone on to make 14 appearances for Charlton Athletic in all competitions in which she has scored one goal.

Primus recently sustained a hamstring injury and with the player potentially not returning to fitness before the end of the current campaign, her loan spell with Charlton Athletic has come to a premature conclusion. The attacker will now continue her rehabilitation back at parent club Southampton where she will have the full support of the medical team.

Southampton signed Primus in summer 2023 after she opted to leave fellow Barclays Women’s Championship club London City Lionesses. The player has made 18 appearances to date for The Saints in all competitions. She was a member of a Southampton side that finished last season in fourth position in the Barclays Women’s Championship table.

It is not yet known what the future holds for Primus beyond this season given the fact that she has spent the majority of the 2024/2025 campaign out on loan.
