One of Henrikh Mkhitaryan or Hakan Calhanoglu will get a rest in tomorrow’s Serie A clash between Inter Milan and Fiorentina.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Piotr Zielinski will instead start the Serie A encounter.
Inter looked well off the pace in midfield in Thursday’s Serie A loss to Fiorentina on Thursday.
The likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu have certainly been stalwarts for the Nerazzurri for the past few seasons.
But neither were anywhere close to their best on Thursday. This constituted a big part of the reason why Fiorentina were able to overrun Inter centrally so easily.
For this reason, the Gazzetta report, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will make changes in midfield tomorrow, as Inter prepare to go again against Fiorentina.
One thing that’s very clear is that Nicolo Barella will start. Inter certainly felt the 28-year-old’s absence against La VIola on Thursday, and he’ll replace Davide Frattesi.

But then, there’s doubt about which of Mkhitaryan or Calhanoglu will drop out.
One will, as Inzaghi looks to refresh the Nerazzurri midfield, though.
And it will be former Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski who comes into the lineup, reports the Gazzetta.
