Barcelona are set to take on Borussia Dortmund tomorrow at the Montjuic, in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals.

While Barça are set to dearly miss out on the services of Dani Olmo, among others, Dortmund have a few injury problems of their own.

Which Dortmund players are missing vs Barcelona?

As reported by SPORT, Niko Kovac’s men are heading into this game with a thin defensive line, owing to the injuries of Niklas Sule and most recently, Ramy Bensebaini.

Marcel Sabitzer is also out with a knee issue. These absences, along with the suspension of Pascal Gross, are pushing Dortmund toward a change in shape.

Arguably the biggest boost for Dortmund heading into this game will be the return of Felix Nmecha.

The 24-year-old midfielder has recently made his comeback after over two months out with a knee ligament injury, featuring for 20 minutes against Freiburg.

Although Nmecha might not be fully fit to start against Barcelona, he could appear as a second-half substitute for Kovac.

Nmecha is an interesting player for Dortmund as he offers the control and physicality in midfield, which very few in his team can offer.

This could prove to be vital against a Barcelona side that thrives on creative brilliance and technical prowess. Nmecha’s strength and imposing figure, therefore, could be a solid counter.

How could Dortmund set up?

Kovac is expected to ditch his preferred three-at-the-back system in favour of a more traditional 4-2-3-1.

Nico Schlotterbeck returns from Bundesliga suspension and should start, while Emre Can and Salih Ozcan are tipped to form the midfield base.

Up front, Serhou Guirassy is set to lead the line after recovering from a muscle problem, supported by Beier or Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Adeyemi on the wings. Julian Brandt will likely play behind the striker.
