What do you predict with the final 2024/25 Premier League table?
Only six weeks of the season to go.
In 42 days time Newcastle United will conclude their season with a home game against Everton on Sunday 25 May with a 4pm kick-off.
Following the 3-0 victory for Newcastle United on Monday night at Leicester, NUFC having to wait six days to try and make it five wins in a row (in all competitions).
Ahead of today’s matches, five Premier League games played on Saturday.
Premier League results – Saturday 12 April 2025:
Man City 5 Palace 2
Brighton 2 Leicester 2
Forest 0 Everton 1
Southampton 0 Villa 3
Arsenal 1 Brentford 1
As you can see, three of those competing for Champions League places dropped points, only Man City and Villa winning.
Arsenal, Forest and Brighton all dropping points.
This is how the Premier League table now currently (morning of Sunday 13 April 2025) looks:
When it comes to predicting what that final Premier League table will look like after the 38th round of fixtures in May 2025, Opta have done some updated analysis after Saturday’s Premier League results.
Using their latest data simulations, Opta analysis has shown this as the most likely 2024/25 Premier League table come the end of the season – Predicted final table as at 13 April 2025:
As you can see, a significant shift now.
Brighton now looking really up against it after that shock 2-2 draw at home to Leicester, whilst with Forest now having lost their last two matches, including yesterday’s shock 1-0 home loss to Everton, their position now looking a lot less secure. Indeed, if Newcastle get four points or more from these next two home games then NUFC will be in third themselves come the end of Wednesday night.
A Champions League place predicted by Opta for Newcastle United, as it is top five who will now get CL qualification.
Ahead of Sunday’s action, the Opta prediction model now forecasting Newcastle United to end up fifth on 66 points, However, predicted to finish third and fourth, Opta also have Man City and Forest to finish on 66 points as well. Three ahead of Chelsea’s predicted total, then Villa predicted to finish on 62 points.
If Newcastle beat Man U today, then that Opta prediction will change for sure in NUFC’s favour, even more so if then making it two home victories in quick succession. As that would be United’s game in hand turned into points, with Newcastle then two points ahead of Forest and four ahead of Man City, with only six games left to play for each team.
With two victories, Newcastle would also be guaranteed to be at least three points ahead of Chelsea by Wednesday night, they are home to Ipswich this afternoon.
At this stage of the season, every result becomes so much more important, as the stakes are so high and margins so fine.
Here’s hope that, as predicted, Newcastle United end the season on the right side of these fine margins.
