There’s optimism that midfielder Davide Frattesi will be fit to start for Inter Milan in tomorrow’s Coppa Italia clash with Lazio.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They also report that Mehdi Taremi and Marko Arnautovic will start the match in attack.

Inter Milan have been dealing with a few injury problems in recent weeks. That is hardly a surprise considering the hectic fixture list.

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi confirmed a fitness issue for midfielder Davide Frattesi over the weekend.

The coach explained that he had initially intended to use Frattesi against Genoa in Saturday’s Serie A match.

However, Frattesi was feeling a knock. This was present in the warmup for the former Sassuolo midfielder, therefore Inzaghi did not put him on as a substitute.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will aim to rotate his squad ahead of next weekend’s crunch Serie A clash with Napoli.

There has been a sense that Frattesi may well require medical tests on his injury in the last couple days.

But according to the Corriere, behind the scenes optimism is growing.

Frattesi appears to have shaken off whatever minor problem had been affecting him.

Therefore, the 25-year-old Italian international should be ready to start tomorrow.
