Orlando CIty SC enters another affiliation to radiate global football | OneFootball

The Black Knight Football Club and Orlando City SC now have an affiliation agreement to benefit both organizations.

The Black Knight Football Club has signed an affiliation agreement with Orlando City SC that will further power the MLS side’s player development, plus other team efforts. It’s the latest move by the Lions in what is becoming an annual event in smart organizational moves to increase MLS success.

Affiliating with the Black Knight Football Club gets Orlando City into multiple clubs. These include AFC Bournemouth in England, FC Lorient in France, Hibernian FC in Scotland, and Auckland FC in New Zealand. The goal is to align elite talent development with operational best practices.

At the same time, it increases Orlando’s international footprint. What the organization and developing players learn through these experiences comes back to the Lions and eventually moves across the pitch in each of the team’s competitions.

This is the first development touched by Luis Muzzi in his new position as Senior Advisor to Ownership, Global Soccer Ventures. His previous position was Executive Vice President of Soccer Operations and General Manager.

Yet in that previous position, he had a hand in international organizational agreements with the same goal.

Last year, Orlando City entered a technical partnership with Sporting Club de Portugal. There is a lot to learn from the club that produced Cristiano Ronaldo and former Lions Captain Nani. The team was formed in 1906 and has never been relegated from the Primeira Liga.

Not only has Orlando studied development, but how the club communicates digitally. This spearheads the technical partnership.

From there, the Cristiano Ronaldo Academy partners with Orlando. Exchanges of players will occur, and City’s development pathway will evolve.

The Black Knight Football Club will also help Orlando City evolve. This affiliation will increase both organizations’ goals of success, reflecting the highest level of competition in world football.
