“Sorry for letting you down tonight. Thank you for your support,” the defender wrote on X, formerly Twitter, after the game.

Milan’s latest defeat left them 9th in the Serie A standings, nine points below fourth-placed Lazio.

The 23-year-old joined the Rossoneri in an €18m deal from RB Salzburg last summer.

Pavlovic has made 16 league appearances with the Rossoneri this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists. Additionally, Pavlovic has participated in Coppa Italia and Champions League matches, bringing his total appearances this season to 25.

Milan’s next game is away at Lecce on March 8. Pavlovic will serve a one-match ban at the Stadio Via del Mare.

The Rossoneri are expected to change coach in the summer, although Sergio Conceiçao does not risk sacking before the next league match.
