Pep Guardiola hails Barcelona & Inter Milan for ‘unbelievable’ first-leg clash | OneFootball

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has on Thursday moved to reveal his appreciation for the efforts put forth by both Barcelona and Inter Milan, in their recent continental showdown.

One of the games of the season to date was of course played out in Catalunya’s capital last night.

As much saw La Liga leaders Barcelona play host to Italian champions Inter Milan, in a highly-anticipated Champions League semi-final first-leg clash.

When all was said and done in a pulsating 90 minutes, the sides were forced to settle for a share of the spoils, in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

The fixture had everything, from individual quality to stellar tactics, goals, tight offside calls and more.

And one individual who could not help but be impressed by the displays put forth by Barca and Inter alike was the aforementioned Pep Guardiola.

Drawn on Wednesday’s festivities at Montjuïc during an exchange with the media earlier today, ex-Blaugrana boss Guardiola gushed:

“I’m surprised how nice the game was! Thanks to these type of games the stadiums will never, ever be empty and our business will grow. I can just be grateful for the two semi-finals, because both were unbelievable, especially yesterday. When you play like Barca play the stadiums will never, ever be empty. And we can live this business for a long, long time – it doesn’t matter the results. How proud the people who love Barcelona, we are. Inter prove again… when we won the Champions League against this opponent; they’re incredible how good they are in the transitions, physicality, well organised. Inzaghi is an unbelievable manager. Next Tuesday and Wednesday will be an incredible two games. They are four fantastic teams and they deserve to be there!”
