Inter once again failed to hold on to a lead and ended up conceding a second-half goal to Bologna in their 2-2 draw at the San Siro.

Denzel Dumfries and Lautaro Martinez responded to Santiago Castro’s opener, before Emil Holm found the net after the break to jeopardise the Nerazzurri’s temporary turnaround.

Football Italia was among the accredited media at the San Siro – here are the player ratings.

Inter 2-2 Bologna: player ratings

Inter: Sommer 6; Darmian 5.5 (70′ Pavard 6), De Vrij 5.5, Bastoni 5.5 (83′ Buchanan n/a); Dumfries 6.5, Barella 7, Asllani 5.5 (70′ Frattesi 5.5), Zielinski 5.5, Dimarco 6 (70′ Carlos Augusto 6); Thuram 6.5, L. Martinez 6.5 (74′ Taremi 5.5).

Best Inter player:  Barella 7 – The engine the Nerazzurri need to keep working. The Italy international provided his side with tireless runs, defensive coverage and quality passing in every area of the pitch. Simply irreplaceable.

Coach: Simone Inzaghi 5.5 – It was clear since the opening stages it was never going to be an easy night for Inter, an impression that withstood the passing of minutes and even Inter’s temporary turnaround. The Nerazzurri were too soft at the back against a stubborn Rossoblu side and lacked the determination to kill off the game, with the coach’s tweaks doing little to change that.

Bologna: Skorupski 6.5; Holm 7 (76′ De Silvestri 6), Beukema 6, Casale 5.5, Lykogiannis 6; Freuler (87′ Erlic n/a), Moro 7 (67′ Pobega 6); Orsolini 6.5, Odgaard 5.5 (67′ Ferguson 6), Ndoye 6.5; Castro 7 (87′ Dallinga n/a).

Best Bologna Player: Castro 7 – He showed he would have everything to be a worthy heir of Lautaro Martinez – his grit, technique and presence in the box make him an all-round striker and a constant threat to his side’s opponents.

Coach: Vincenzo Italiano 7 – The Rossoblu boss deserves credit for shaping a side able to go toe to toe against the biggest Serie A sides. Bologna’s bravery and will to take risks led them to put up a pressure that was almost suffocating for the hosts in the opening stages. In addition, they fought back following Inter’s comeback and went on to grab a deserved point.
