A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has emerged as a late-transfer window target on the part of Porto.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Pablo Torre as the player in question.
Porto currently find themselves in something of a last-minute dash for reinforcements in the middle of the park.
This comes after Premier League champions Manchester City agreed to pay the release clause included in the contract of midfield standout and ex-Barcelona talent Nico González.
Amid their search for a replacement, the brass at the Estádio do Dragão, in turn, have set sights on a current member of the Blaugrana engine room ranks.
As per a report from Fabrizio Romano, citing Barca insider Toni Juanmarti:
‘FC Porto are in contact with Barcelona for Pablo Torre after Nico González to Man City completed. Negotiations ongoing, nothing done yet but deal on.’
It now remains to be seen if Porto can find an agreement with club and player alike ahead of the fast-approaching transfer deadline.
