Borussia Dortmund will be looking to get their first league win under new manager Niko Kovac when they host Union Berlin at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday.
In their last Bundesliga fixture, Dortmund suffered a shocking 2-0 loss to 17th placed Bochum, meaning Kovac has now lost both of his first two league matches as manager.
On Wednesday though, his side managed to qualify for the Champions League round of 16 after a 0-0 draw with Sporting Lisbon, meaning that they advanced via a 3-0 aggregate scoreline.
Results must be picked up in the league now as they currently sit in 11th place with 29 points and are eight points behind a place in the top four.
They have lost five of their last seven Bundesliga matches.
Union Berlin were defeated 2-1 by Borussia Monchengladbach in there most recent Bundesliga outing, leaving them in 13th place with 24 points.
Steffen Baumgart’s side have also failed to score in four of their last seven matches.
In their last away match however, they were able to defeat Hoffenheim 4-0, which was an important step forward for Union, considering they had lost their previous seven away matches in a row.
Team News
Felix Nmecha is currently the only player who has been confirmed as injured for Dortmund and will be out of action until later in March.
Marcel Sabitzer and Pascal Gross are likely to play together in midfield with Emre Can continuing as a centre back.
Union will be without midfielder Aljoscha Kemlein through injury.
Janik Haberer and Rani Khedira could possibly start together in the midfield.
