PSG defender Achraf Hakimi admits that the Champions League final against Inter Milan will be “a special match” for him.

The Moroccan international spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, after his team’s victory over Arsenal yesterday.

Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the Champions League final yesterday. They beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Parc des Princes, meaning that their semifinal tie ended 3-1 on aggregate.

PSG will meet Inter Milan in the final at the end of this month. The Nerazzurri overcame Barcelona in a spectacular semifinal tie that ended 7-6 on aggregate.

This will be the first time that Inter and PSG meet since a very notable transfer between the two clubs.

Fullback Achraf Hakimi joined PSG in the summer of 2021. Inter sold the former Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund man for a massive fee.

That was the first notable sale that Inter made during their period of pandemic-era financial instability.

Hakimi had spent just one season with the Nerazzurri. However, it had been a very memorable one, as he played a big role in Inter’s first Serie A title in eleven years.

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old has established himself as one of PSG’s most important players.

After yesterday’s triumph over Arsenal, Achraf Hakimi told Sky Sport Italia that “Inter are a great team.”

“We know the characteristics they have. We watched them yesterday.”

“For me it will be a special final,” the Moroccan admitted. “And we’ll face it with huge motivation.”

“We want to win the Champions League,” Hakimi said. “But for now, were enjoying the moment.”

The 26-year-old added that “it will be special to face my former teammates and my former team again.”

“It was an important step in my career,” the Moroccan said of his season at the Nerazzurri.
