The last few months have been tough for Real Betis’ Isco (32), after suffering a setback in his recovery from injury he is not expected to be back in action until next year.

Recently the midfielder had the opportunity to appear on Real Betis‘ YouTube channel, in a video celebrating World Food Day and discussing different aspects of health and diet.

It was during this video that the midfielder shared a story recounting an epileptic episode he suffered back in 2022, one which kept him in hospital for four days.

As per GOAL, the 32-year-old said, ‘I had never suffered it before. It was a pretty strong episode. I was admitted to the hospital for four days, where they carried out a lot of tests on me.’

The star shared that he suffered the attack while he was asleep, and also shared that ‘I had trouble remembering some things that happened to me during that day. There are moments in the hospital that I do not remember.’

The former Real Madrid and Sevilla player also stated that following the scare he will have to take medication every day for the next four years as treatment.

Following an injury at the end of last season, and a relapse which saw him need even more surgery, Isco is expected to return to action for Real Betis around January 2025.
