La Liga outfit Real Betis will be forced to make do without an important member of the club’s first-team ranks, in their upcoming meeting with Espanyol.

This comes owing to developments in the Verdiblancos’ most recent outing.

Betis marked their return to action on Thursday evening, welcoming basement dwellers Real Valladolid to Seville for a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done, Manuel Pellegrini’s troops emerged dominant victors, by five goals to one.

As alluded to above, though, en route to as much, the hosts were also dealt something of a blow on the personnel front.

As much came during the 2nd-half at the Estadio Benito Villamarín, upon substitute Aitor Ruibal being shown a yellow card.

His fifth of the campaign in Spain’s top-flight to date, Ruibal is therefore facing up to a one-game suspension, to be served in Real Betis’ meeting with Espanyol on Sunday, May 4th.
