Arsenal defender William Saliba is a player who has great admirers at Real Madrid. The 23-year-old is a player that the Merengues are interested in signing to reinforce the heart of the defence.
With Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba not getting any younger and Eder Militao suffering back-to-back ACL injuries, it makes sense for Los Blancos to strengthen their defensive unit with a player of Saliba’s potential and quality.
As such, Fabrizio Romano reports that Real Madrid have been keeping close tabs on Saliba by constantly sending scouts to monitor him in action.
Those at the offices of the Spanish capital club consider him the ‘Jude Bellingham of defenders’ and as such there is serious consideration about signing him from Arsenal.

The Italian transfer expert does, however, add that Real Madrid are yet to make any concrete and are just closely following the situation.
After all, Saliba has a contract with Arsenal until the summer of 2027 and the player is unlikely to make a move in the upcoming transfer window.
In fact, the French international insisted recently in an interview that he is happy at the Emirates Stadium and is looking to win trophies.
“I am really happy here at Arsenal. I have two and a half years on my contract and I want to continue here,” Saliba said.
“I want to win big things with Arsenal. If you leave this club and you don’t win anything then the fans will forget about you. I want to win here.”
