According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, veteran Real Madrid pair Lucas Vazquez and Luka Modric may have played their last final for the club, with both of their futures hanging in the balance.
Following a tough season that saw Real Madrid eliminated from the Champions League, the Copa del Rey final ended as another blow to their hopes of silverware.
Despite taking a lead, the team lost the final 2-3 in the added minutes to crush their dreams.
This defeat was particularly heartbreaking for the two veterans, whose time at the club appears to be nearing its end.
Vazquez, 33, and Modric, 39, have both had a challenging season, with their performances being scrutinised.
Vazquez’s age and Modric’s declining form have left their futures uncertain, and the Copa del Rey loss could have been their final opportunity to add another title to their impressive lists of achievements.

Following the loss, both Vazquez and Modric, key members of the captain’s group, appeared visibly shaken, with the realisation that this could be their last final with Real Madrid clearly weighing on them.
The emotional toll was evident, and it seemed as though they both knew that this could be the final chapter in their long and successful careers at the club.
Despite the uncertainty, neither player’s future will be decided until the end of the season.
With the Club World Cup in July still on the horizon, it remains unclear whether either will feature in the competition or if they will remain at the club beyond this summer.
What is certain, however, is that the coming weeks will be crucial for both players as they make decisions about the next steps in their storied careers.
