With Milan Skriniar now at Fenerbahçe SK, Paris Saint-Germain could be looking for a new center-back, whether it’s in January or the summer.
Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté is said to be on PSG’s radar, especially with his contract running through 2026. The 24-year-old fits PSG’s transfer strategy of targeting French talent.
If Konaté doesn’t sign an extension, he’ll be a free agent at 27, right in the peak of his career. If he enters the final year of his contract or becomes available, PSG could make a move to bring him back to France, as one report suggests they plan to do.

CaughtOffside reported on Friday, citing sources, that Real Madrid have been keeping a close eye on Konaté as they look to strengthen their defense, whether or not they manage to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The report also mentions that while Liverpool are pushing forward with efforts to renew Konaté’s contract while Real Madrid are still monitoring the defender’s situation.
Anfield Watch recently reported that PSG are fully committed to signing Ibrahima Konaté, adding more pressure to the defender’s already uncertain future.
PSG are looking to bring Konaté back to Paris, his hometown, in the summer. The 24-year-old started his career at Paris FC before moving to RB Leipzig, and now he’s a key target for the French club.
While no move is expected in January, PSG plan to make their push in the summer, knowing Liverpool might have little choice but to listen to offers. With Konaté able to sign a pre-contract with clubs outside of England next year, Liverpool will likely see the summer as their final chance to secure a decent transfer fee.
Konaté’s value is currently estimated at €50 million by Transfermarkt.
