Real Madrid’s two worst defeats of the season have come against Barcelona. First, it was the 4-0 drubbing at Santiago Bernabeu, and the one that followed in the Spanish Super Cup was tangibly worse as the Catalans scored five goals.

The better team deservedly won as Los Blancos put out disastrous performances on both occasions. While their attack improved in the second game, their defensive show was horrendous on both nights.

Real Madrid star impressed by Barcelona

As relayed in a recent update on Tot Costa, Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham told his inner circle that he was impressed by the Catalans’ showing on both nights, particularly how they exploited Real Madrid’s weaknesses twice.

It was after the Spanish Super Cup final when the English star made the confession to his close ones, stating that he was fascinated by the style of play Barcelona are showing under Hansi Flick.

Bellingham is alleged to have even compared the current Real Madrid team to Barcelona and said that the difference between the two was that the Blaugrana players perfectly knew what they had to do on the field and possessed a clear idea of the game.

What he meant, perhaps, was that Real Madrid’s performances have shown clear gap, especially in defensive partnerships and the creativity in midfield.

While Barcelona may be producing the more captivating football, Real Madrid have churned out results regardless of their performances and have even overtaken the Catalans in the standings in La Liga.

Bellingham’s resurgence, needless to say, has been critical for the same. In fact, the player played a key role in the team’s win over RB Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League last night with two assists.
