Real Madrid face Barcelona in El Clásico tonight as the two teams battle for the Supercopa de España.
The Spanish giants contest the first silverware of the Spanish season in Saudi Arabia, in a rematch of last season’s final. Real Madrid won that clash and a repeat this evening will see Los Blancos level Barcelona’s record of 14 Supercopa successes.
Real Madrid will be without Luka Modric through illness, though Jude Bellingham, Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni are all available. The trio were assessed after picking up knocks in the semi-final win over Mallorca. Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal are long-term absentees, while David Alaba is yet to return from his ACL injury.
For Barcelona, Dani Olmo and Pau Victor are available after being handed temporary registrations. Ronald Araujo’s involvement is unclear as Juventus push to sign the centre-back, while Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Andreas Christensen again miss out.

Since beating Pachucha in the Intercontinental Cup final last month, Carlo Ancelotti’s side have returned to domestic action with a perfect record.
After league wins over Sevilla an Valencia, Los Blancos thrashed Deportiva Minera to earn progress in the Copa del Rey. Ancelotti’s side then dispatched Mallorca 3-0 to reach the Supercopa de España final.

Barcelona’s blistering early season form has faltered of late. Hansi Flick’s team have dropped to third in La Liga as a result but back-to-back wins over Barbastro and Athetic Bilbao since returning from the winter break have restored confidence.
The Catalans are the leading scorers in La Liga this season and will again look to Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal this evening. That trio rank first, second and third in Spain’s top division for goal involvements in 2024/25.
Barcelona blitzed Real Madrid to record a famous win over their arch-rivals in October. The Catalans cruised to a 4-0 success at the Santiago Bernabeu to move six points clear at the top of the table. Real Madrid were looking to equal Barcelona’s record of 43 league games without defeat but saw their unbeaten record ended in emphatic fashion.
After a goalless first half, Robert Lewandowski scored twice in two minutes to put the visitors in control. 17-year-old Lamine Yamal added as third to become El Clásico’s youngest-ever scorer, before Raphinha wrapped up a resounding win.
