Real Madrid find themselves in an uncomfortable situation as far as their right-back position is concerned. Dani Carvajal is out with an ACL injury and Lucas Vazquez has not been good enough, especially in the big games, to be trusted with the starting role.
As such, the coaching staff is angling for a new signing in the position, with the club hierarchy also warming up to the idea.
The priority remains Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold but the possibility of signing him this month, instead of waiting until the summer when he becomes free, seems unlikely.
As such, Real Madrid are also now considering signing a stop-gap solution until the end of the season if Alexander-Arnold does not arrive.
To that end, according to reports from England, as relayed by SPORT, Real Madrid are interested in bringing Manchester City veteran Walker on loan until the end of the season.

This comes after the club’s first-choice target for the position, Trent Alexander-Arnold, was deemed unattainable this month.
Liverpool are firmly against a mid-season transfer for their star defender, with Real Madrid now likely to defer their pursuit until the summer, with Walker now being seen as a temporary alternative.
The 34-year-old England star has decided to leave Manchester City as was confirmed by manager Pep Guardiola recently.
While rumours initially linked Walker to a move to the Saudi Pro League, AC Milan have positioned themselves as a possible destination for the seasoned Englishman, with Real Madrid also allegedly throwing their hat in the ring now.
Los Blancos, as per the report, would only seek a loan deal. Whether Manchester City would agree to a such a proposition rather than seeking a permanent transfer remains uncertain.
