Real Madrid make the short trip to Leganes in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals tonight.
The Spanish champions take on their city rivals in cup competition with a place in the last four at stake.
Carlo Ancelotti will demand a response from his side after the club’s 1-0 defeat at Espanyol at the weekend. That loss saw their lead at the top of La Liga cut to one point.
Leganes are battling against relegation in La Liga but have proven awkward opposition for Spain’s top teams. Borja Jimenez’s side have upset Barcelona and Atletico Madrid this season.
Carlo Ancelotti will need to shuffle his pack for the quarter-final tie. Antonio Rudiger picked up a hamstring injury at the weekend to add to the club’s absentee list. Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao are long-term absentees from a depleted defence, while the recently returned David Alaba has picked up a muscular issue.
Ancelotti has also confirmed that Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham will not be fit to feature, and Eduardo Camavinga remains out with a hamstring issue. Opportunities could be handed to fringe names including Arda Guler and Endrick in their absence.
Real Madrid predicted XI: Lunin; Vazquez, Tchouameni, Asencio, Mendy; Valverde, Modric; Guler, Brahim, Vinicius; Endrick.
Leganes host Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals on Wednesday 5th February 2025. Kick-off at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque is 20:00 GMT.
The fixture will not be televised in the UK.
