Paris Saint-Germain currently has Achraf Hakimi at right-back, and there are reports suggesting that the Moroccan international is likely to extend his contract. However, in football, nothing is set in stone until the deal is finalized.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently mentioned that PSG and Hakimi are close to finalizing the details of the extension, with the contract length and salary nearly agreed upon.

Despite this, PSG might consider bringing in competition for Hakimi. According to Fichajes, the French club are reportedly eyeing Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contract runs until 2025.

Nonetheless, the prospect of moving to Madrid to play alongside compatriot Jude Bellingham might be too appealing for Alexander-Arnold to resist.

Keith Wyness, Everton’s former chief, has suggested that the allure of Real Madrid may be too strong for Alexander-Arnold to resist.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness claims that his “gut feeling” is that the 25-year-old Liverpool standout has “decided” on a La Liga move when his contract expires in 2025.

“My own gut feeling is that Trent has decided Real Madrid is a very appealing opportunity,” Wyness said. “He’ll go overseas as a young player after seeing the success that others have had with a fantastic lifestyle.

“I remember selling Thomas Gravesen to Real Madrid – he said it was 85% show business and 15% football. There’s an appeal unique to Madrid for younger players. To have that on your CV when you retire, it’s hard to give up that opportunity.”
